  • Belvedere Hockey Club – redesign of this website, implementing a CMS (Content Management System) to enable updates of scores and match reports.
  • CL:AIRE – developed and delivered a HTML, CSS and web design training course for the marketing department.
  • H2Education – capture, edit & production of educational footage for distribution on DVD.
  • Irish Examiner – developed a database driven Production Schedule System using PHP and MySQL.  Developed a database driven Warehouse Storage Management System.
  • Maria Hildrick Art – designed this website with Flash based image galleries.
  • NAIRTL – digitised, edited and compressed conference video footage for web streaming.
  • Legal Education Conference – web design and CMS integration.  Captured, edited and compressed conference video footage for DVD and web streaming.
  • RDJ Lawyers – technical analysis of video footage used as evidence in a criminal case.
  • Stick UK – web design and link to eBay shop (since closed down).
  • University College Cork – Homofaber Project.  Created interactive virtual reality models of an exhibition hall and exhibits. Produced these on DVD for distribution to schools.
  • University College Cork – River Feale Project.  Created 2D and 3D animations for this research project using data supplied by the University’s Civil Engineering department.
  • Victims of Crime – website design and CMS integration.
  • Web Print Concepts – Developed a large secure intranet database driven website handling the printing needs of 40 newspaper titles with over 300 registered users.

Worked as the sole Multimedia Technician, looking after the needs of 45 staff members and over 50 PhD/Masters students.

Core experience gained:

  • Maintained, supported and developed the Faculty and Department of Law websites.  Mainly UCC Law Dept and Centre for Criminal Justice and Human Rights
  • Developed advanced website features – blogs, podcasts, screencasts, tutorial sign up web application.
  • Created intranets for staff and students.
  • Video and audio recording of events.  Editing and distribution on DVD and via the web. Over 30 hours of web video created.
  • Created audio podcasts for use on iTunes and other podcasting software.
  • Photography of events, editing in PhotoShop and production of print and web versions for use in the department.
  • Involved in the development of a corporate logo and image to give a coherent look and feel to departmental documents, brochures and web sites.
  • Trained staff and students in web site maintenance and in the use of IT for legal research.
  • Developed and maintained user documentation for staff and students regarding hardware, software and online services.

Broadcast Technology Support Specialist.

Worked as part of a large team responsible for all aspects of maintenance, support and installation of broadcast and IT systems, within one of the largest news broadcasters in the world. Received certificates in Advanced IT Engineering and Advanced Broadcast Engineering.

Core experience gained:

  • Developed intranet sites for new trainees.
  • Trained new staff in HTML, CSS, PhotoShop and other web design skills.
  • Involved in the development and testing of the Fault Reporting Management System.
  • Visual Basic programming and development for network based graphics applications.
  • Project managed the set-up, configuration, installation and testing of graphic systems.
  • Offered assistance, technical advice and training in the operation of equipment (audiovisual hardware and software) to journalists and operational staff.
  • Attended equipment failures, provided fault diagnosis and rectification of problems.
  • Installed and configured hardware, software and operating systems in both IT and broadcast equipment.
